My daughter (Taylor) and I participated in a counter-protest yesterday, and it was a beautiful thing to behold. Our small community (Port Orchard, WA) was visited by five members of the Westboro Baptist Church. They were here to protest at a memorial service held for a local soldier, Sgt. 1st Class Johnny C. Walls.  

My 14 year old daughter (Taylor) is working on a video documentary for National History Day. Her documentary is titled "The Vietnam War's Effects on American Music". She is interested in responses from veterans, and I told her that there are many of you here at DailyKos. I'm hoping that some of you might be able to respond to two questions she has asked me to post.  With your approval, she would like to incorporate text from some of your comments in her video documentary.
