Barack Obama 2008 = John Kerry 2004: with update

Mon Jan 14, 2008 at 05:37:22 PM PDT

To begin, I am a John Edwards supporter and I intend to remain so.  I continue to support him through his second term or until he announces his withdraw from the race to the White House.  Having said (typed) that I can see that it will take an unusual series of circumstances for John Edwards to be president.

Like many Edwards supporters I am unlikely to jump ship to Clinton or Obama during the primaries but will support whoever is the nominee of our Party.  However if I am forced to choose, and God knows I don’t want to choose between Clinton or Obama, I am not happy because I see no good options.

As a person, I prefer Obama but as a candidate I prefer Hillary.  Here is why

Edwards Media Blackout Continues

Sun Jan 06, 2008 at 03:18:18 PM PDT

This afternoon I am sitting on the couch trying to catch up on some long-over due assignments for work and keeping the TV on for background noise.  Since the Bucs were unable to have much success against the Giants and the Chargers are continuing to struggle I have flipped over to on CNN.  (I know, bad choice.)

It is not a great surprise that I found the corporate media continues its blackout of John Edwards.  Mentions of Edwards are kept to a minimum and the disdain for Edwards attempt to shake up the powerbrokers in DC is palpable.  What a shame.  How predictable.

Maybe the problem is not with Obama but....

Thu Jan 03, 2008 at 08:31:43 PM PDT

Back in the old days (1996) I did some work on the Harvey Gantt campaign for senate in NC by developing and running his Web site.  I believed VERY strongly in Harvey (and still do) and I remember my passion working on his campaign.

However it was not long that I became disgusted with his campaign - not because of him but because of his advisers and consultants.  They were unprepared to fight a man like Jesse Helms and depended on the intellect of the voter to see through the the dirty tricks (now called swift boating) tactics of the repugs.  Harvey lost by more in 1996 than he did in 1996 due to what I believe was a soft campaign.

more after the jump....

Living with cowardice

Sun Jun 18, 2006 at 12:17:43 PM PDT

When considering the hypocrisy of the 101st fighting keyboarders I started to think more about the people I know in my local community that love bush and support the Iraq war.  While I have no contact and no insight into the likes of jonah goldberg I do know several men, age 18-40, that voice support the war but don't have the guts to enlist.

Avian Flu - Are You Prepared?

Mon Sep 19, 2005 at 10:15:55 AM PDT

Over the weekend I read with interest the posting by DemFromCT titled "What's the Deal With Avian Flu?" Perhaps there is hype regarding Avian Flu but I am more concerned about the widespread ignorance on the topic. Those of us in the blogosphere have certainly read about the dangers of a global pandemic and many, like me, have decided to start preparing for a possible outbreak. (My wife and I have our Tamiflu, extra food and water, cash, etc...)
