Everybody seems to be upset about our "representaives. (heh) selling us down the river. Well I'll be damned who would have ever thought that we would have invertabrate/sellouts cave to the will of a man with  the lowest approval ratingds evah...guess I should shut up since all he has to do is say ...damnit shut up before he hears you.

This will be a short one I promise you. I wouldn't want to give any more ground or afford the opportunity for this administration to track me down and do things they have done in ...that place, south of.... are there any borders?

hippity-hop lalalalalala....

Aw fuggit, there are serious issues that right now mean more than loyalty.

My VP Diary, It's not John Edwards

Wed Jun 18, 2008 at 09:03:58 PM PDT

This diary was inspired by One Carolina Girl. There have been many people who have offered thier opinion of who should be the Vice-Presidential candidate, also there have been any number of reasons offered as to why this or that person would be the best candidate, in the end none of it matters. With that in mind I offer my own candidate who I feel is above and beyond all other considerations. This is a man who will not only change the discourse and throw "the right" off guard but someone who can and will take it to them in a way they have no answer.

In case you haven't clicked on the link come across the divide and let me explain who this is and why he would be the ultimate weapon when standing next to Barack Obama.

The "Kids of Summer"/No politics-Expanded

Sat Jun 07, 2008 at 08:51:29 PM PDT

This is crossposted from eenrblog, for no other reason than to provide reading for those who are tired of loving Barack and hating Hillary, or hating Barack and loving Hillary

Folks this will be nothing more than a self-indulgent old dude remembering his youth, sort of an Al Bundy of baseball. It all started with a phone call I recieved this week from (I'll just call him coach). Coach became a father figure when I was a kid, my parents divorced, my dad wasn't around and coach who had known the family for years made sure the boys were boys. He had a family of his own with kids around the same age so he just accepted the two of us as sons in every sense of the word.

Here is where I give a little historical info to set the stage of what the phone call was about, and the amazing thing this man has requested, it is truly an honor that was unexpected. Also a combination of reminiscing and rehash of the conversation that took place yesterday evening.

What Now?

Tue Jun 03, 2008 at 10:08:24 PM PDT

Warning: Expect run-on sentences, frank opinion and possibly misspelling of key words.

I'll try and keep this civil but, I am wondering just exactly what those of you who have made it your mission to denigrate and insult fellow Democrats (all of the above) might do with your energy now that there is a nominee. I know you may feel wronged, you may think that things were said that were "beyond the pale" but now that there is a nominee how exactly will you transition?

Rec'd this Diary

Sun May 25, 2008 at 05:57:36 PM PDT

People I know I do not enjoy much of a fan club around here anymore ;~) And this won't be a "legitimate diary", just an effort to promote a very worthy diary

There is a diary about an important issue that is sliding away that deserves to be veiwed on this important weekend that is all about honoring those men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice usually at the behest of people who have no clue. This weekend also should be used to honor those today who are making sacrifices we wouldn't wish on anyone.

I ask again, PLEASE rec'd this diary

Thank you

Better Hope She don't

Alright everybody who saw the username and let their cuckolds get up can go ahead and start commenting. I would appreciate profanity personally but there are children watching so it's on you how far you go.

Here is the thing folks, Meta is a wonderful thing you get to express your opinion and take the pulse of the community at the same time. Now I know there will be the same goofballs that feel the need to express their superiority about grammar and spelling but if you look close you'll see one mother****ers that don't give ****.

I have been doing the whole Meta thing lately, it's garnered the most comments of any of my diaries yet so I thought "what the hell" another can't hurt...right? Everyone who feels the need to discuss my writing abilities or even to explain to the masses any of my shortcomings fell free. Now as not to be subjected to the rant I may unleash at any moment, mush. Anyone else willing to muddle through my incoherent rambling please join me on the other side....

Open Letter to Kos

Tue May 06, 2008 at 10:21:34 PM PDT

First let me say Kos you can trip over the fold I have to address those that don't understand.

I know this is Kos' blog, he has afforded us a place to express our opinions, there is no need to explain it's his house. Something else he has done is enjoy being called out by people who take advantage of the place (he's laughing now), so before that thought enters your mind trust me, you will have more to complain about because if this gats under his skin he say things you can only dream.

Still with me Kos?

Louisiana Special Election Pre Game

Sat May 03, 2008 at 03:14:54 PM PDT

I voted today for a candidate with a D behind there name, not the candidate I would have liked to have cast my vote but I did my duty as a citizen. My first choice in my district of course didn't qualify, but why should this election be any different. Seems that we lefties rarely enjoy the opportunity of having our candidate available when it comes time to make a statement, or express our true natures yet we still do what has to be done and show up to be counted. I voted for Dan Cazayoux in LA-06, he who was endorsed by the DCCC. The same DCCC which unltimately take the easiest route in their support, never taking a chance on truly progressive candidates like "Gilda Reed. Now Gilda was the candidte who I would liked to vote for today, alas I live approximately three miles as the crow flies in the neighboring district.

Please Don't Watch This!

Fri May 02, 2008 at 01:24:18 AM PDT

I have nothing to say. I'll let him

Copy of the popular video on the net right now showing how soldiers are living. I am a Fort Hood solider and can confirm that conditions like these are common and I have personally lived in barracks like these. Today we had our rooms inspected (which consisted of the sergeant major yelling us) so I guess people are writing about this. This is unacceptable even for 1 yr (people act like that is not a long time!) Imagine your apartment complex moving you here while you wait for a new complex to be built. Would you have a problem with it?? These guys just went through living hell (no hot water, living in tents, pissing in tubes) for a year only to come back to this.

New Orleans. "The Amigos Summit"

Tue Apr 15, 2008 at 10:45:23 PM PDT

Where to begin? Let me credit Manuel Perez Rocha and Sarah Anderson. Manuel Pérez Rocha is an Associate Fellow and Sarah Anderson is the Global Economy Project Director at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, DC. They are both Foriegn Policy In Focus contributors.

New Orleans the site of one of the most disgraceful inactions of this administration is once again being shown exactly what this administration thinks of their worth to the country. The city understands it isn't worthy of a debate, they would expect no less from the heckuvofajob crew.

After being told the city is "not ready for a presidential debate", suddenly things are fine to welcome these fine folks to the "Big Easy", well some of them anyway.

The chief executives of Wal-Mart, Chevron, and 28 other large corporations are in on the closed-door negotiations, while members of Congress, journalists, and ordinary citizens are excluded.

I Meta Man

Sun Apr 13, 2008 at 12:01:32 AM PDT

Alright folks some of you that know the UID are already wondering what does this asshole have to say this time. For those that don't understand that sentiment look through my history and you will figure out I am here to poke fingers in the eye.

It's my first Meta so be honored that you are allowed to read this and take it to heart because there are two things I do (a) I deposit smartass comments (b) call bullshit. This will involve both so if your sensibilities are offended by either now would be the time to exit this rant. Now for those who have already made up thier minds, don't be discouraged because I will be leaving a jar to deposit whatever gratuities you feel are deserved. All donations will be accepted and enjoyed, I assure you.

John Edwards on Leno w/vid

Sat Mar 22, 2008 at 07:58:49 PM PDT

Let me start by saying that I for one will vote for either one of the Democratic candidates in November. I really and truly wish that we and the rest of America could turn our attention to destroying John McBush. There are so many problems in the country and the world we need to refocus our energies on making sure that as a party we come together in November to ensure a Democrat is in the WH.

Everytime there is a rumor floated, by people we really shouldn't be paying attention to, about a forthcoming endorsement there are the usual suspects. The suspects who feel the necessity to point out all the evils of John Edwards, and explain to the world he is a man without integrity. For some reason some feel the need to disparage a man who not only moved the dialogue leftward, but had the integrity to "let history blaze it's path".

While You Were Cheering

Tue Mar 18, 2008 at 11:33:54 AM PDT

Some things always reach out and provide perspective on things that are truly important in this world. While all the bickering and squabbling is happening between the camps. While Senator Obama feels the need to give a speech to try and blunt criticisms, and everyone discusses the implications of Geraldine Farraros' comments, there is a War that is costing life, limb and treasure.

Linda Bilmes co-author of the Three Trillion Dollar War, which I diaried here, has an op-ed, Another Year, Another $300 billion that provides a little focus. >>>>>>

GRAVELANCHE!!!

Thu Mar 06, 2008 at 12:43:57 AM PDT

Alright I'm tired of all this bullshit about Hillary said this, or Barack did that. Neither of these two  can hold a candle to the only remaining candidate in the race who has actually saved American lives.

Are you over eighteen? Did you sign up for selective service? DID YOU? Did they grab your ass and haul you off to boot camp to go fight in a foreign land against your will? Do you know why they didn't lasso your ass, make you sign on the dotted line, put a rifle in your hand and send you out to be a  target silhouette in somebody elses' country?

MIKE GRAVEL, THAT'S WHY!!!

Obama Supporters Crack Me Up

Sun Mar 02, 2008 at 12:40:16 AM PDT

OK so I am reading a hell of an article about the state of the nation and progressivism in general, that has some ideas about how we as a party are going to move the country in a better direction. It's got me really thinking and I am considering doing a diary on the subject to share with the community. After all isn't that what this community is supposed to be about? Electing Democrats, promoting the agenda and taking the control away from the criminals in Washington? That's what I thought anyway.

Unfortunately the community has become somewhat singlularly focused on denigrating and disparaging one of our own. I know I can hear it now "she did it first", "she and her cronies are destroying the party", "she should bow out because it's what the people want". Unfortunately you need to convince half the country of that, because she is obviously still getting a significant number of votes. Let me share something from the article I was reading to help explain. Follow me below the fold>>>>

Your War, and Your Kids, and Your Grandkids, and Your Great-Grandkids, and ........

Tue Feb 26, 2008 at 12:21:51 PM PDT

                 $3,000,000,000,000.00

To save you a little time that is twelve zeros. Twelve zeros to the left of the decimal point are needed to express trillions of dollars. The bright side you ask? That is only a billion outside the United States. So maybe things aren't as bad as they seem, or are they?

Jim Loy provides a nice example for comprehending exactly what a trillion constitutes.

Let's count to a billion. But first, let's see how long that will take. I can count pretty fast for a while. I mumble a little, like "sev-sen" for "seventy-seven." After a while (in the 100,000's), it takes me a lot longer than a second for each number. If it takes me a second for each number (which is a little unrealistic), then it would take me about 24 hours to count to 86,400. I can count to a million in less than half a month. It will take me more than 30 years to count to an American billion, and more than 30,000 years to count to a British billion.

Got that?

Is it a Revolution?

Sat Feb 23, 2008 at 02:08:27 AM PDT

Sara Robinson writing for Campaign for America's Future has a provocative entry about what is going on in America and where the country could be headed. She points out there are many people in America who are poised for transformative change, and may be willing to accept nothing less.

I am sure that I won't be able to do this article justice but if you would join me below the fold I will offer a synopsis of what is truly an informative piece.
